A képeslapon a műemlékvédelem alatt álló, a világörökség listáján szereplő Hollókő falu részlete. Háttérben a (... falu központjában, a domb tetején kialakított „szigeten” áll a kis fatornyos, zsindellyel fedett templom, melyet 1889-ben közadakozásból építettek, és amelynek egyszerűségéből fakadó szépsége ma is megkapó. Hollókő a palóc régiót jellemző, a történelmi, egyutcás, fésűs beépítésű falutípust képviseli, melynek alapstruktúrája a központi útra merőlegesen, keskeny szalagtelkeken elhelyezkedő házak kettős vonala, amely úgy alakult ki, hogy a családok egyetlen telekre építkeztek, és a létszám növekedésével az utcára néző első ház mögött egyszerűen egy újat emeltek. A kontyolt, nyeregtetős, háromhelyiséges parasztházak homlokfalát az utca és az udvar felől is áttört faragással díszített, faoszlopos, deszkamellvédes tornácok („hambitusok”) szegélyezik, amelyről közvetlenül a pitvarba, azaz a konyhába lépett az érkező. forrás: hetedhetorszag.hu).
