A felvételen a December 8. tér - Történelmi emlékhely - központi része látható, bronz férfialak vele szemben egy rusztikus andezitoszlop áll. A központi alak mögött a kép bal oldalán a december 8-i áldozatok emléktáblája látható. A szobor Szabó Tamás szobrászművész alkotása. Az egykori Vásártéren 1993. március 15-én avatták fel az 1956-os sortűz áldozatainak emlékművét . Az áldozatok nevét felsoroló fekete gránit emléktábla Varga István 1996-os alkotása. Előtte kisebb méretű, fekete gránit emléktábla szintén Varga István alkotása 2000-ből. A park Rákóczi úti bejáratánál két táblát találunk. Jobbra a Nemzeti Örökség Intézete kétnyelvű táblája tájékoztat a Történelmi emlékhelyről, balra az 1956. december 8. emlékparkról.
A felvétel 2022-ben, Salgótarján várossá nyilvánításának 100. , centenáriumi évében készült.

A háromosztatú képeslapon dejtári utcarészlet, alatta látkép a faluról, jobbra a Római katolikus (Kisboldogasszony) templom. (Az egyhajós, középtornyos templomot 1810-ben építették, rizalitszerűen kiugró toronnyal, az alapjához szükséges köveket a drégelyi vár romjai szolgáltatták. A templom 1850 körül a községgel együtt leégett, de még abban az évben újjáépítették. A tető fedéséhez fazsindelyt alkalmaztak, amely ma már cseréptető. Egyhajós középtornyos jellegét tekintve, késő barokk épület.)

"Salgótarjánban, a Rokkanttelepen létesült Derkovits művésztelep környezetében vasárnap délelőtt ünnepi aktusra kerül sor. A művésztelep esztétikai arculatát formálandón, és a névadó művész megbecsülésére leleplezik Borsos Miklós Kossuth-díjas szobrászművésznek a nagy proletárfestőről, Derkovits Gyuláról készült portréját. Az ünnepség keretében Czinke Ferenc Munkácsy-díjas grafikusművész mond beszédet." (Nógrád, 1968. június 22.)
