Tisztelet az olvasónak!
Salgótarján várossá nyilvánításának 75. évfordulója - ahogyan azt a "kerek" évfordulókon már sokszor megéltük - nagy kísértés olyan külsőségekkel parádézó, görögtüzes ünneplésre ami ideig-óráig eltakarja a valót.
Mi nem ezt a "megoldást" választottuk, mert hitünk és értékrendünk szerint a mottóban megfogalmazott kötelesség teljesítése - ami egyaránt vonatkozik egyénre és közösségre - többet ér minden talmi csillogásnál. A régi salgótarjáni képeslapok szakmailag igényes és ízléses kiadása jelentős tett a városi önismeret építésében és ezért méltó születésnapi ajándék mindazoknak, akik szeretik a régi - új Várost.
A régi képek azonban nemcsak emlékeket idéznek, hanem erőt és hitet is adnak ahhoz, hogy higgyünk: Salgótarjánnk nemcsak múltja, hanem jövője is van.

Most tegnapelőtt csütörtökön írtam egy ajánlott levelet az adóhiv. főnöknek, egyet Mikó telepfelügyelőnek, sőt Szekszárdra is, várjuk a hatóságot.Oly nehezen megy ez a lakás ügy, hogy az ember már a sok izgalomba bele betegszik. Engem is megviselt a múltkori utazás. Hál Istennek szép a szemük a gyerekeknek. Július 10-én, szombaton velük utaztunk haza. Itt esős és hüvös idő van, úgy látszik ez a nyár így telik el. Erdélyből még nem kaptunk levelet, mi [...] írtunk. A viszontlátás mielőbbi reményében kedves mindnyájukat szeretettel üdvözöljük.
