A fotón a hollókői vár részlete látható, a restaurálás előtti időszakból. A vár legkorábbi részét, az öregtornyot a Kacsics nemzetség építette a XIII. század végén, bár pontos ideje nem ismert. 1310-ben kelt oklevél említi először Castrum Hollokew néven.
A várat a régészek 1966–69 között tárták fel, majd 1970-ben kezdték restaurálni. 1996-tól megnyitották a látogatók előtt is. A várban 2014 nyarán felújítások kezdődtek, majd 2015. május 7-én került sor az átadásra.

A fotón a hasznosi vár maradványai láthatók. A Cserteri vár romja a Mátrában a Hasznosi-víztározó fölé magasodó 383 m magas sziklacsúcson található. Első írásos említése 1304-ből való. Az 1300–1320 között épült vár a Kövecses-patak völgyében haladó mátrai hadiutat őrző három vár egyike volt. 1329-ben Castellanus de Hasnos néven említik. Az idők folyamán rommá lett vár köveit a lakosság építkezéshez használta fel. Napjainkra maradványait teljesen beborította a növényzet, csak két magasabb falmaradvány emelkedik a lombok fölé.

A fotón a Börzsöny erdői között megbújó Drégely sziklavárának romja látható. 1285-ből származik a vár első, fennmaradt okleveles említése. Ali, budai pasa 1552. július 6-án kezdte meg seregével a vár ostromát. Szondi maroknyi seregével megpróbált ellenállni, de rövid, öldöklő harc után a vár végül elesett. A vár nem épül fel többé. A vár a nemzeti örökség része, 2012-től történelmi és nemzeti emlékhely.
