A képeslapon a Palóc Múzeum épülete. A múzeum alapításának javaslata Nagy Iván történésztől származik, aki 1891-ben létrehozta a városban a Nógrád vármegyei Múzeumi Társulatot. 1910-ben meghirdették a pályázatot a tervek elkészítésére, az eklektikus stílusban, Wälder Gyula tervei alapján 1914-ben kezdtek az építkezéshez, amelyet 1915-ben adtak át. A tényleges, 1931-es múzeumi megnyitás előtt azonban az épület laktanya, kórház, csendőrség céljára is szolgált.

A képeslapon a Palóc Múzeum épülete. A múzeum alapításának javaslata Nagy Iván történésztől származik, aki 1891-ben létrehozta a városban a Nógrád vármegyei Múzeumi Társulatot. 1910-ben meghirdették a pályázatot a tervek elkészítésére, az eklektikus stílusban, Wälder Gyula tervei alapján 1914-ben kezdtek az építkezéshez, amelyet 1915-ben adtak át. A tényleges, 1931-es múzeumi megnyitás előtt azonban az épület laktanya, kórház, csendőrség céljára is szolgált.
