Vitális Sándor geológus egyetemi tanár szobra látható. Az alkotást 1987. július 10-én pénteken avatták fel Salgótarjánban a Bányamúzeum előtt. A szobor-portét Mészáros Mihály szobrászművész készítette, amelyet Bencsik Béla a Magyar Hidrológiai Társaság elnöke leplezett le a Magyar Hidrológiai Társaság salgótarjáni emlékülése alkalmából. Dr. Vitális Sándor 17 éven át volt a társaság elnöke és Nógrád megyében is dolgozott főgeológusként.
